Preparation
Cook the Oats in Broth
Bring your beef or chicken broth to a gentle simmer in a small saucepan. Add the rolled oats and cook according to package directions, stirring occasionally. Using broth instead of water transforms ordinary oats into something deeply savory and satisfying โ€” this is the foundation of the whole bowl.
Add the Jerky
In the last 3 minutes of cooking, stir in the finely chopped Caveman Pepper jerky. The heat and moisture will soften it slightly and infuse the oats with its smoky, peppery flavor. Stir well so the jerky distributes evenly throughout.
Top & Serve
Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl and top with a soft-boiled egg, halved so the yolk runs into the oats. Scatter sliced scallions over the top and finish with a few drops of toasted sesame oil. Eat immediately while hot โ€” this is a breakfast that rewards an adventurous palate.
