Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8/27/2026
Dyno Jerky is a small operation that sells jerky. We are not in the data business, and we would rather spend our time smoking meat than collecting information about you. But running an online store means some data changes hands, and you deserve a plain explanation of what that is.
This policy covers dynojerky.com and any orders, accounts, or messages that come through it. When we say "we," "us," or "Dyno Jerky," we mean Dyno Jerky Snacks LLC, located at 1865 N MacArthur Dr Tracy, CA 95376. When we say "you," we mean anyone who visits the site, buys something, signs up for messages, or contacts us.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you place an order: your name, shipping address, billing address, email address, phone number, and what you bought. If you add a gift note or delivery instructions, we get those too.
When you pay: you enter your card details on a checkout page operated by our payment processor, Shopify Payments. They tokenize and process the payment. We receive a confirmation, the last four digits, and the card brand — not the full number.
When you create an account: a username or email and a password. Passwords are stored hashed; nobody here can read yours.
When you sign up for email or texts: your email address or mobile number, plus a record of when and how you opted in. We keep that record because the law requires us to prove consent.
When you contact us: whatever you put in the message — support requests, complaints, questions about whether the teriyaki is spicy. (It isn't.)
When you enter a giveaway, leave a review, or take a survey: whatever that specific form asks for. We'll tell you at the time.
Information we collect automatically
When you load a page on dynojerky.com, our servers and our analytics tools log routine technical details: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and rough location derived from IP (usually city-level, sometimes just the state). This is standard web-server and analytics data, and we use it to keep the site working and to see which products people actually look at.
We also use cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies and tracking.
Information from other sources
If you interact with us on Instagram / TikTok / Facebook, those platforms may pass along aggregate information about our audience — never your private messages or account credentials. Our shipping carriers send back delivery status. Our fraud-screening tools may return a risk score on an order.
What we deliberately don't collect
We don't ask for your Social Security number, government ID, date of birth, or precise GPS location. If a form on our site ever appears to ask for those, something is wrong — please tell us before you fill it in.
Why we use it

Performing our contract with you.
Send order confirmations, shipping notices, and delivery updates
Performing our contract with you.

We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Fraud scoring may flag an order for manual review, but a human makes the call.
Who we share it with
We share personal information with the companies that make the store run. Each one only gets what it needs for its job, and each is bound by contract to use it only for us.
Store platform and hosting — Shopify, which runs the storefront, cart, and order records.
Payment processing — Shopify Payments, which handles card data and payouts.
Shipping and fulfillment — UPS, which needs your name and address to deliver a box of jerky to it.
Email and SMS — Shopify, which sends the messages you opted into.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4, which tells us how the site is used.
Advertising — Meta / Google Ads / TikTok, which show our ads and measure conversions.
Reviews — Judge.me, if you choose to leave one.
Customer support — Shopify’s Third Party apps, where your messages live.
We also disclose information when the law leaves us no choice: valid subpoenas, court orders, tax audits, or a regulator with authority. We'll push back on requests that look overbroad, and we'll notify you unless we're legally barred from doing so.
If Dyno Jerky is ever sold, merged, or acquired, customer records may transfer to the buyer as part of the deal. We'll post notice here before that happens, and the buyer will be bound by this policy until they publish their own.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, and Texas privacy laws, however, letting advertising pixels pass data to ad platforms for targeted advertising can count as "selling" or "sharing." You can opt out — see below.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use four kinds:
Strictly necessary
Keep you logged in, remember your cart, and prevent fraud at checkout. The site does not work without these, so they can't be switched off.
Preferences
Remember things like your region or whether you dismissed a banner.
Analytics
Count visits and page views so we can tell what's working.
Advertising
The Meta Pixel / Google Ads tag tells the platform that someone who saw an ad later bought something, and lets us show ads to people who visited but didn't check out.
You can manage cookies through browser settings. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies won't break the store. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will.
Global Privacy Control: we honor the GPC signal. If your browser or extension sends it, we treat it as a valid opt-out of targeted advertising and of "sale"/"sharing," automatically, for that browser.
Email and text messages
We only email or text you if you asked us to, or if it's about an order you actually placed. Order confirmations and shipping notices are transactional — you get those either way, because you need them.
Email: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, and you're out. It takes effect within 5 days at the outside, usually immediately.
Texts: we don’t make use of text message, unless necessary to connect with vendors, not direct consumers.
Opting out of marketing doesn't cancel your orders or delete your account. It just stops the promotional messages.
How long we keep things
Order records: 5 years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
Account information: until you delete the account, plus 30 days in backups.
Marketing list membership: until you unsubscribe, plus a permanent suppression record so we don't accidentally re-add you.
Support conversations: 2 years.
Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics, per that tool's retention setting.
Cookies: from a single session up to 12 months, depending on the cookie.
When a retention period ends, we delete or de-identify the data.
How we protect it
The site runs over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Card data is handled by a PCI-DSS compliant processor and never stored on our systems. Access to customer records is limited to the operations people who need it, and those accounts require two-factor authentication.
That said: no website is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within the timeframes the law requires.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
Know what personal information we hold and where it came from.
Access a copy of it in a portable format.
Correct anything inaccurate.
Delete it, subject to records we're legally required to keep.
Opt out of targeted advertising, "sale," "sharing," and profiling.
Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
Non-discrimination — we won't charge you more or give you worse jerky for exercising any of this.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described above — identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and geolocation inferred from IP — for the business purposes listed. We disclose identifiers, commercial information, and internet activity to the service providers listed above. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. To opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, use [our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link / the cookie preferences control] or send a GPC signal. You may use an authorized agent; we'll ask for proof of authorization.
How to exercise any of this
Email support@dynojerky.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you want. We'll verify it's really you — usually by confirming details of a recent order or emailing the address on file — and respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. We may extend once if the request is complicated, and we'll tell you if we do.
Links to other sites
Our site links out to social media, our shipping carriers' tracking pages, and occasionally to other businesses. Once you leave dynojerky.com, this policy stops applying and theirs takes over. We can't control what they do and don't accept responsibility for it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights — a new category of data, a new purpose, a new recipient — we'll say so prominently on the site and, where required, email you before it takes effect.
