Refund policy

Last updated: September 1st, 2026

If something's wrong with your order, we'll fix it. That's the entire policy. Everything below is just the details of how.

This page works together with our Terms of Service — if the two ever conflict, the Terms govern, and we'll fix the discrepancy as soon as anyone points it out.

The short version

Damaged, wrong, or bad? Tell us within 30 days. Refund or replacement. Don't ship it back — we can't restock food anyway, so returning it costs you time and us shipping for no reason. Don't like the flavor? Tell us within 7 days and we'll swap it or refund it. Once per customer, no argument. Unopened and unwanted? Send it back within 7 days for a refund minus return shipping. Opened and you just changed your mind? This is the one we can't do. Explanation below. Package lost or stolen? Contact us within 7 days of the delivery date and we'll sort it out.

Start any of these by emailing support@dynojerky.com with your order number. A person reads it, usually within one business day.

Why opened food can't come back

Not a policy preference — federal and state food-safety rules mean any consumable product that leaves our control can't be resold or restocked. Once a bag is out of our hands, its storage conditions are unknown. It goes in the trash regardless of what's wrong with it.

So there's nothing useful for a return to accomplish. Which is why, when something's wrong, we skip the shipping label and just make it right. You keep the bag or throw it out; either way we've refunded or replaced it.

What's covered

Something's wrong with it

Damaged in transit, seal broken or puffed, wrong item, wrong flavor, missing item, arrived past its best-by date, moldy, or it just tastes off.

Window: 30 days from delivery. For a compromised seal or a package that arrives visibly damaged, tell us within 7 days if you can — it helps us file a carrier claim and spot a packaging problem early. What we need: your order number, a photo of the product and the bag, and the lot code printed near the best-by date. The lot code lets us check whether anything else from that batch has come back, which occasionally turns up a real production issue. It's the single most useful thing you can send us. What you get: full refund or a replacement, your choice. Original shipping was refunded too. Nothing to ship back.

Don't eat something you're unsure about to prove a point. A photo is enough. We will never ask you to send back or consume products you have doubts about.

You don't like it

Jerky is a taste thing and heat levels are subjective. If you tried a flavor and it isn't for you, say so within 7 days and we'll send a different flavor or refund it.

Once per customer, on the honor system. We'd rather you find something you like than sit on a bag you won't eat. If a particular flavor keeps coming back to us, that's useful information about the flavor.

Unopened and unwanted

Changed your mind, ordered twice by accident, or the gift didn't land. Return unopened, undamaged bags within 7 days.

Email for a return authorization first — packages that show up without one may not get processed, because we won't know whose they are. You cover return shipping; we refund the product price [minus a restocking fee]. Original outbound shipping is non-refundable.

What isn't covered

An opened product you simply changed your mind about. See above. Product past its best-by date because it sat in your pantry. We cover dates that were already short on arrival, not ones that ran out at your house. Product that degraded after successful delivery — a box left in the sun on a July porch for two days. Shelf-stable isn't invincible. Bags opened, left out unrefrigerated, and were eaten later. Once opened, refrigerate and finish within 7–10 days. Gift cards, which are non-refundable. Final sale, clearance, and last-chance flavors, marked as such at checkout. Wholesale orders, which run under a separate agreement. Repeat claims without a plausible explanation. We're generous by default and we'd like to stay that way, which means occasionally saying no.

Shipping problems

Tracking says delivered, nothing's there

Check with neighbors, your building's office, and around the property first — carriers are creative. Then give it 24 hours, because "delivered" scans sometimes run a day early.

Still missing? Contact us within 7 days of the delivery date. We handle these individually and generally lean toward the customer, especially on a first occurrence. We don't guarantee replacement on a confirmed delivery scan, but we rarely leave someone empty-handed.

It never arrived

If tracking stalls for more than 7 business days, tell us. We'll open a carrier trace and, once it's clear the package is gone, refund or reship at our cost. Legally, the risk of loss passes when the carrier takes the package — practically, we don't hide behind that.

Wrong address

If the address you entered was undeliverable and the package comes back to us, we'll reship once you cover the second shipping charge, or refund the product price minus original shipping. If it doesn't come back, we can't replace it for free — it was delivered somewhere.

Double-check the address at checkout. It's the most common avoidable problem we see.

Hot weather

Jerky handles heat better than almost anything else you can ship, but a box in direct sun for two days in a heat wave will still suffer. If your area's in the middle of one, consider a work address or a signature requirement. Product that degrades in transit is on us; product that degrades on your porch after delivery isn't.

Refused deliveries

A refused package is treated as an unopened return: refund of product price, minus [return shipping and any restocking fee].

Subscriptions

Cancelling a subscription stops future charges. It doesn't refund an order that has already shipped.

Cancel or skip at least 48 hours before your renewal date to miss that cycle — you can do it from your account page or by emailing us. If a charge caught you off guard and the order hasn't shipped, tell us and we'll cancel and refund it.

Anything wrong with a subscription shipment is covered exactly like a regular order.

Gift orders

Refunds go back to the original payment method, which means back to the person who paid — not to the recipient. There's no way around that on the payment processor's end.

If you received a gift with a problem, contact us anyway. We'll send a replacement to you directly, which usually solves it without anyone having to have an awkward conversation about a refund.

Price adjustments

If a sale starts within 7 days of your order, email us and we'll refund the difference. After that window, we don't do retroactive adjustments. Discount codes can't be applied to an order after it's placed — we can't retro-apply them on the platform's end, so please enter the code at checkout.

Timelines

What When to tell us When it's resolved Damaged, wrong, or quality issue Within 30 days of delivery Refund or replacement approved within 1–2 business days Visible package damage or broken seal Within 7 days, if possible Same Flavor swap Within 30 days Same Unopened return Request within 30 days, ship within 14 of approval Refunded within 5 business days of arrival Delivered but missing Within 7 days of the delivery scan Case by case, usually 2–3 business days Never arrived After 7 business days of stalled tracking Once the carrier trace closes Price adjustment Within 7 days of order 2–3 business days

Refunds land on your original payment method within 5–10 business days of approval. The delay after that is your bank's, not ours — we can send you the refund confirmation if they want proof.

How to reach us

Email support@dynojerky.com with:

Your order number What went wrong A photo, if there's something to photograph The lot code, for anything quality-related

That's it. No form, no ticket portal, no phone tree.

One ask: email us before filing a chargeback. We resolve nearly everything within a day, and a chargeback costs us a fee whether or not it's upheld — and it takes your money longer to come back than a straight refund would. If we've genuinely failed you, do what you need to. But give us the day first.

Recalls

If we ever issue a voluntary recall, refunds are automatic and total — full price back whether or not you still have the product, whether or not you have a receipt, regardless of any window on this page. We'll email everyone we have a record of selling the affected lot to. See the Terms of Service for the full procedure.

Your legal rights

Nothing on this page limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live. If your state or country gives you more than we've offered here, you get more — this policy sets a floor, not a ceiling.
